“COVID-19: Lock-down and It’s
Positive effects on the environments.”
“Go Corona Go…!”
COVID-19 is the infectious disease
caused by the most recently discovered corona virus. This new virus and disease
were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December
2019. COVID-19 is now a pandemic affecting many countries globally.
The corona virus pandemic has caused a
global reduction in economic activity and although this is major cause for
concern, the ramping down of human activity appears to have had a positive
impact on the environment. Industrial and transport emissions and effluents
have reduced, and measurable data supports the clearing of pollutants in the
atmosphere, soil and water.
“This is one of the Challenging
phase in our life. We need to follow safety rule and Guideline of the
government and WHO.”
Still every cloud has a silver lining
and just like that the Lock-down also seems to have a brighter side to it, while
we all are aware about disturbing effect of Corona Virus, but each Coin has two
sides. It also has many unexpected positive effects on the Environment.
Air Pollution levels are falling
drastically. The sky is so clear and smog free. That’s why we are now able to
spot a greater number of stars as than usual. Breathing has become easier
because of the cleaner pollution free air. There is significant decrease in
nitrogen dioxide, carbon dioxide, Carbon monoxide. The pollution of the New
York has reduced by more than 50%. After the lockdown for the first time in 30
years Himanchal Pradesh, dhauladhar mountain range has become visible from 125
miles. But thanks to lock down the smog is reducing rapidly.
Ecosystem is thriving again, since year we
have been Hunting and caging the animals and birds for fun now the nature has
given them the chance to roam freely, while we people on these earths are caged
in our own house due to lockdown. Due to reduced noise pollution people are
waking up with sweet chirping of the birds, meanwhile viral social media post
started a pop up wildlife sighting in urban areas claiming.
An "unprecedented" ozone depletion in
the northern hemisphere has healed, but unlikely due to the impacts of
worldwide coronavirus lockdowns, scientists say. The hole had been about three
times the size of Greenland.

Water bodies have also been clearing and
the rivers Yamuna and Ganga have seen significant improvement since the
enforcement of a nationwide lock down. According to the real-time water
monitoring data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the average
water quality of 27 points of the Ganga seen in recent days, is suitable for
bathing and propagation of wildlife and fisheries.

In conclusion,
The takeaway from this is that once
nations come to grips with the corona-virus, better implementation of the
environmental, transport and industry regulations should be considered a
priority to ease the detrimental impacts of human activity on the environment.
“It’s not all about perfect,
It’s about Efforts,
And when you bring that
Efforts every single day
That’s where
transformation happens
That’s how change occurs”.
Stay home, Stay Safe…!
